2014 Southwestern International Law Summer Program
Wednesday, January 22, 2014
Once again, the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy, in partnership with the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law (Vancouver, BC), and Southwestern Law School (Los Angeles, California) is hosting a four-week summer law program at the UBC Faculty of Law, from May 25-June 25, 2013.
The program is aimed at allowing students to gain an understanding of the difference between the Canadian and American legal systems, as well as to promote the development of greater cooperation between the students and faculty members in solving common problems in criminal justice and international law.
In addition to coursework, students are given the opportunity to interact with distinguished members of the Canadian bench and bar. They can also take advantage of various field excursions and social events. In the past year, students have visited the B.C. Law Courts, private law firms, the Sierra Legal Defence Fund, Crown Counsel's Office, and the Downtown Community Courts, among other places.
